I Am A Deer Poem by Samantha Pedrick Sammi

I Am A Deer

I am a Deer.
I am Graceful.
I am Cautious.
I am Wild.
I am Fast.
I am Spirited.
I am Free.
I am Strong.
I am Powerful.
I am a Deer.

Running through a field on an Autumn Afternoon,
Leaping over streams on a Spirited Summer Siesta,
Eating the green grass on a Stunning Spring Morning,
Hunting for berries on a Warm Winter's Day,

In the forest, I will stay, until a new morning of a new day
Resting in the field as insects fly by,
Flowers are growing and soon will be blooming,
The animals come out to play but beware, some of them are bears.

Run through the woods as the bear is near behind,
The white from our tails will hopefully blind,
We make it near the dens location but the bear has not gone to any other nation.

Up a hill with hooves clattering on stones,
Through the stream, slipping on the wet grass,
Waiting to see if the bear is near,
He is below, the hill is too high, we say goodbye.
With a flick of our tails, we run through more fields.
The Goddess Artemis watches over us.
