Was taken to the hospital
May 25
Was released from hospital
June 7.
Was short of breath,
am still short of breath.
Had two operations on heart,
they want to do two more
when I am rested up more.
For some reason they did an x-ray
then did another one in that clanking scary X-ray
scary because I an claustrophobic
and discovered a big mass in the bowel
operated on me
and removed it
it was cancerous
but there is no other sign of cancer at this time.
So that is why I disappeared off the face of the earth,
my friends,
I miss you all very very much
but I am so tired that all I do is sleep and stare out the window...
I haven't written on my book-my brain is dead
I haven't written a poem--my brain is dead.
I would love it if you all would write a poem to me
about the loveliest thing in your life that never fails to make your heart smile....
miss you all but cannot promise when I will write again but I promise I will try because I
Love my poetic friends,
.
Battered and bruised but still kicking,
Susan

I am glad that in one way or another you found time in weaving a very heartfelt and thoughtful poem informing us your condition. As Kim said, you are sorely missed. But you know what, whenever I read your comments, my friend, your presence is deeply felt. You inspire everyone! Get well soon!
Rose Marie, that was such an encouraging note to send--I needed to read a remark that raised the spirits--I tend to spend hours staring out the picture window at the garden that others must tend now,
