Hail

Guess it was
-Nineteen and sixty eight

Think it was in summer?
-possibly, it could be
-must have been…
-it was day, I had guest,
-in Texas; San Anton…

Suddenly attacked us the ice-balls
-in the midst of cries of the fighting skies
-some of non-homogenised spheres
-were weighing more or less around pound

Brutal they were when invading
-window's frame
-possibly with no aim
-aimlessness resembled
-a balloon, gas in it compressed
-now opened, or punctured
-they ambush from air

Intruders were big hails
-fearsome as looters in deserts
-entering closet landed on trousers

Strange was live show-
-of nature; for us all,
-international students

We were there as friends or slaves of US
-in Lackland Air Force Base
-Studied English and techniques
-could also be chosen selected and pampered
-Spare-pawns, if favoured, for chess games
-the worldwide coup d'etats; CIA's
-like the one against our Mosadeq
-or Chile's Salvador Allende
-against king, Sultan who were independent
-all of those freely elected by nations
-we could be preserved for later

Beloved USA, I learned lot in that time
-of events like the hail and call to Attention!
-to respect young cadet
-taken as general by mistake
-by a US soldier, or maybe Private
-domesticized as they are; all of them!
-seeing my shoulder-pad took me as general

This is how fell in love with true USA
-not the one carved in head
-by slaves who took oath:
-"Will remain loyal to the White House
-Pentagon, CIA and friends in UK; "

Lovely are the Yankees
-too simple and childish
-their actions are silly
-some may say: "Stupid! "
-I do not or don't want
-to me this is too wrong; mean, ugly!
-but "Simple, " is very delightful.

Great and thankful am to nature
-here, in Toronto, saw same game
-it happened right today, in summer
-though hail-balls were small
-the largest was pea-size
-but heavy, angry, and milk-white!

Memories, reminding
-and brain
-are cute, strange, amusing!

What are they?
-who made them?

Shall we be sheepish say: "Creator"?
Shall we be atheist and rebel?
-"Was Big Bang…incident"?

Whatever, whichever, however…
-I love to think of them as poet-filmmaker!
