Ah, , , , I can smell the scent of mango blossoms whispering in the gentle breeze and I yearn for past times I smelled the scent... very evocative... your voice is so soft and gentle
Hi Susan Williams, Your comment brought me to this poem again. As Glen Kappy has said in his comment, we have memories of different flowers and their fragrances. It is mango blossoms for me, mimosa or willow may be for Glen Kappy. And may I ask Susan, which fragrance she likes most? ? ?
i'm guessing that this, from Glen, answers Loke Kok Yee's AND MY question about the meaning of the last line: ah! to be interrupted from this moment of enjoyment. but at least you had that moment.. i do not write 'haiku' poems. it seems to me i read once that a/an haiku does NOT contain complete sentences. i have also read that traditions change over years and haiku is no exception. whether haiku is meant to not have OR have.......one or more complete sentences, i LIKE THE POEM. and given Glen's interpretation of the third line, i send this to MyPoemList. bri ;)

I can smell the fragrance of spring so clearly presented, but I was a little stumped by the last line, can you help me there Bharati?
Sorry that I could not reply all comments of great poets here. But I must reply your query regarding the last line.Mango tree blossoms in Spring seasons here in India. The air is filled with such unique fragrance and there is song of cuckoo bird around. We feel as if love is in the air.Mango blossoms bring memories of past.
ah! to be interrupted from this moment of enjoyment. but at least you had that moment... i've never smelled mango blossoms. are they sweet? right now in my neighborhood the air is scented with desert willow, mimosa, and chocolate flowers- all wonderfully sweet. -glen
A call of nature can not be ignored, we become helpless. A nice Haiku.
