[from One Love Story, Eight Takes] By Brenda Shaughnessy In Hindi/Urdu Translation

is mohabbat ki kahanai main
main tumhain vapis chahti hooN -
taa k har shaam ko main
jo kucH bhi din bhar bigaDa hai
usay sahi salaamat kar looN.

main ne ek dress kharidi hai
jo itni zanani hai
k is k paar
meri ovariaN dikhaee deti hain.

main ne socha k aisay
fansaa looN gi tumain apne pyaar main,
aur main khana peena choD kar
dubli ho baithi tere liyay.

One Love Story, Eight Takes
BY BRENDA SHAUGHNESSY

One version of the story is I wish you back—
that I used each evening evening out
what all day spent wrinkling.

I bought a dress that was so extravagantly feminine
you could see my ovaries through it.

This is how I thought I would seduce you.
This is how frantic I hollowed out.
