From Boy To Man

I watched you sleeping just last night
The way I did in years gone by
You were my infant son back then
Now you are an adult...six feet high

I remember kissing your tiny head
As you lay asleep in your cot
Now I marvel that you are a man
The best friend I have got

My blood flows through your veins as well
Mingled as it is with your Mothers
Just as it does in your siblings four
Two sisters and two brothers

I stood and watched you lovingly
A father...proud as can be
In all my life I promise you
Nothing better ever happened to me
