Fearless In The Face Of Death Poem by Hebert Logerie

Fearless In The Face Of Death

Rating: 5.0

Jesus was assassinated
Toussaint died in captivity
Dessalines was assassinated
MLK Jr.was shot and died on a balcony
Yet, I am not afraid to write
Because I know I am right.

Malcolm X was assassinated
Maurice Bishop was shot and killed
Patrice Lumumba was executed
Salvador Allende was killed
By bullets
Not by ballots.

JFK was assassinated
Steve Biko was tortured and died
Medgar Evers was assassinated
Countless victims were massacred and died
And yet the roots will thrive
Because the dreams are still alive.

Our great Heroes died for liberty
For the rights to be free
For protecting humanity, dignity
For love, pride, justice and equality
I am nobody and I am fearless
In the face of death
Life is priceless
Fight, fight for our last breath.

Césaire had a long life
Mandela had a long life
Bob Marley was sick and died
John Lennon was shot and died
We all will die one day
Fight today for a better way.

Stop being silent
Be brave. Cowards die too
Speak out. Be resilient
Be fearless in front of a coup
And keep on fighting for freedom
Because we all will see the kingdom.

Speak your mind
Be wise and kind
The devils shall fall, fail
And will blight in hell
Die for a purpose, for a cause
Think, inhale, exhale, imagine and pause.

Cowards die at each moment but a brave dies once peacefully. We should have inner courage always. An excellent poem is shared.10
