Dusk To Dust Poem by Paul Holmes

Dusk To Dust

Another curtain fall
As the crimson sun
Fades, and dies;
Scarlet streaks
Bleed around the edges
Of my day
Leaching out
All vestiges of daylight.

Then, as the black velvet
Star-studded cloak of Night
Replaces Day,
I sense a quiet sadness
At its demise;
Daytime disintegrates
Into commonplace dust…

How much! Really how much is written about daylight and moonlight and night. Yet your poem touches the cord of the poetic heart with delight and meaningful words dissolve into the night.................thanks for sharing, arya
