Drifting Apart

Rating: 5.0

Treacherous nights
The rose withers
Once so vibrant and full of life
Now but shadows under her eyes
As you may have guessed
I too cannot rest
I long to understand her heart
It speaks a foreign language
Once full of counsel
Now alien to my own
I follow the Crescent
She follows the Cross
Forever hiding her troubles
But even the moon has scars
I wish to glow with her
The moon cannot shine without the sun
Yet they seldom meet
The time has come for me to set
She rises
So I stay awake and pray
This heart beats another day
