Dreamcatcher Poem by Paula Glynn

Dreamcatcher

Under a spell of some strange design
Glittering stars shining in the midnight blue sky
Stars shining millions of light years before
Their magical universal light a mystery
Of what goes after and what goes before
A message perhaps from the universe itself

The darkness, the vacuum of space
Where time is a dimension in its place
Time a strange and unexplainable
Force that takes everything in existence forward
And - at least in God's realm -
Never backwards

With the bizarre occurrence
Of dark matter and dark energy
The universe a mystery that does never
Explain itself but to some sends signs
Its knowledge forbidden
Its ways questioned incessantly

The universe a creator of worlds
And very different worlds it does create
From hostile moons and planets
The solar system known through satellites
Scientists conducting experiments
To explain how everything works

And stories in their billions
Are told every 24 hours night and day
On the revolving beauty planet earth
Even on the much written about red planet Mars
The human race travelling through the stars
Light years going fast through space

And as humans travel throughout the universe
We discover brand new worlds
New amazing planets and mighty moons
Even though landing there impossible
The force of gravity stopping it
And temperatures absolutely impossible to endure

Like a dreamcatcher my mind
Imagines the difficult and impossible
Yet in imagination we can invent anything
We can make the fantastical happen
We can create stories of individual design
And show the senses magical experiences.
