Downtown Train Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Downtown Train

Rating: 5.0

Are you ashame that I am a poet?
How can you?
All my poems are about you
I just want some attention
I figure you're fed up with being a muse
For you can't stand the embarrassment
I would like some warmth
But you aren't giving any
And I can take a hint
If you like, I'll pack my bags, tomorrow
And never return
I'll head south on the downtain train
However, if you love me
And not yr ego
You better tell me tonight
Or forever hold yr piece

He'd have to be a fool to be ashamed that you're a poet. Might be time to take that downtown train. Maybe you'll meet Rod Stewart. Or someone who is appreciative of your poetic skills.

The complexity of love can be very taxing on the brain. Clarity is the key to successful relationships. Beautifully poignant ink!
