Author's Note: While not a poem, I thought it would be fun to publish.
One might look at her in passing and classify her as the average sort of girl you see every day. But if one were to look closer, they would notice a tapestry of emotion dancing across her face. The eyes, hidden beneath glasses, were gray as a stormy sea, holding a small glimmer of intelligence and humor, but also a touch of sadness and loneliness. One could only speculate what lay hidden behind those eyes; a longing for adventure? Or is it romance, lost, or confused? Hidden within their depths is a whole well of emotion and passion, just waiting to rise to the surface once bidden. Her chin, stubborn and determined, supported a mouth smiling softly at some internal joke only she knew. While a little round and soft, her cheeks held the dimples of someone who liked to smile and laugh often. This is a face of a female caught in the limbo between woman and child, not yet sure where her place in the world lies.
Her stride, confident, can only be betrayed by the softness of her shoulders. It seems as if there is a constant battle raging just beneath the surface, as if two souls are battling to get free. One, a kindred spirit, bold and daring, eternally is longing for adventure, romance and passion. Another, meek and mild, more content to be shoved in a corner and ignored. Both souls harbored in one body, a split personality, but one of good and not evil. This is the kind of person who speaks up and takes charge when needed, but can also sit back and listen, contemplating the problem at hand.
