Dark June

Our hearts bleed
We're caught up in the crossfire
Our lives are snuff
Where are the ones we chose?

Is it a crime to be a Nigerian?
Why all this blood?
Where is the Greenland TY Bello professed?
Our land is now red
We can't take this anymore.

I heard their cry
I see them wail
Mourning is now the tone
How wish they were not born.

Benue cried
Then we heard calls from Plateau
Yet, Zamfara wept
Then Otedola greeted us with a blast boom boom!

Things are falling apart
Oh my country!
Where has it gone wrong?
The news is now death, death and death!
What is next we don't know.
