Damn Optimism Poem by D.N. Rebb

Damn Optimism

Soft curse, optimism

Naive unsure water
Before fully submerged
Courage makes things rougher
Mayday, too late, then urged

Soft curse, optimism

Loan shark, horse race, don't mix
Sure bet, leg bone, align
On crutches, better picks
‘Morrow's shocking headline

Soft curse, optimism

Winter rage, radio's warned
Stay off roads, cops advised
Ill wind roared as it stormed
Turn tail cars, the ditch prized

Soft curse, optimism

Clear fairy book short cut
Through pathless woods so tame
Optimist's feeling gut
Common sense or real shame?

Damn optimism
