Camel Herding Travellers In Peace

"Nagaya" or "nage" say the Gabra
camel-herding people of East Africa
peace is "nagaya"
for these people who value

Camels movement and water
carried on camels
for drinking
for the lambs and kids
for everything

Water and peace and movement
freedom for these travelers
herders from Kenya to Ethiopia
sharing words of peace and wisdom
they say
"bobban ke nagaya"
may your taking the animals out
to pasture be peaceful
