Busy Bee Buzz Poem by Julia Shipman

Busy Bee Buzz

"but they have those stingers for a reason and will use them if they or the hive is threatened"
Buzz buzz, busy bee buzz,
Flower to flower
Busy busy bee buzz

Delicately placing herself on every flower to pollinate
Busy busy bee buzz

Busy bee buzz to the house around the corner
She goes in for a flower
Gets swatted away

"Damn wasp around my flowers"
Busy bee buzz buzz away
A little less busy

But busy bee ain't no wasp
Busy bee bee a bee
But old man don't care when she lands on his arm,
He says
"Damn wasp around my flowers"
Buzz buzz buzz away

Busy bee sees less of her friends
Every time she rounds the corner
Must be the old man swatting them all away

But busy bee just wants to pollinate the world around her
Make beauty out of nature

"Damn wasp around my flowers"

Busy bee hides
She ain't no wasp
But old man doesn't know that
Buzz buzz buzz away

Next time busy bee rounds the corner
No friends are left
They didn't want to hurt anyone
Too bad they look like wasps
Buzz buzz buzz away

Old man thinks busy bee could hurt him like the wasp
Sting his skin with her tail
And leave a mark wide and red
But busy bee doesn't do that
Busy bee just buzz

Busy bee does has a stinger
But the only time she uses it
Is when her hive is in danger
She can be afraid of strangers

But these are ordinary behaviors
For a bee with bee instincts
Busy bee must protect herself
It's only within her nature characteristics

Busy bee ain't no wasp
But old man doesn't know that
