Border Poem by Hasanul Hoq

Border

Rating: 5.0

You and I can never be the same
You are serious, I could be lame!

Not necessarily,
East and West need not be the same
If the sun comes serious, the moon comes lame!

On this earth, nothing is equal, or the same,
Everyone talks about upon
Everyone is ready to fill up their own.

We want much more, a bit more
We share less, much less
We never see other's good
We see own's good.
We cage others
We never confine ourselves,
We bite the big one for ours
But we never share others big!

Let's reject these borders,
Which always create ‘Us' and ‘Them'
Which always throws us inside a realm of the Dark world,
Which separates parents from children, brothers from brothers,
colour from colour, usual to unusual!

We do not need the borders
We need the bond,
If it is possible to create a border,
It is possible to break!

To border the earth is to border humankind.
