Silk handkerchief all wet with tears,
Her sweet dreams were no more;
In the deep of the night at the Front Hall
Songs and laughter soared.

Her face still so fair -
But the Emperor's favour was no longer there!
By the incense burner she was leaning,
Until the morning was dawning.

夜深前殿按歌聲
红颜未老恩先斷
斜倚薰籠坐到明
