Asking For A Favor Poem by Mainak Chatterjee

Asking For A Favor

Rating: 5.0

At the end of the road, I know
there is absolute darkness
shameless helplessness
haunting emptiness
shaky hands and legs
asthmatic breathing
fragile knees and backbone
ready to fall apart any time

May I ask you for a favor?
during that painful and tortoise paced waiting period
would you please come down to meet me, once in a while
if not, would you please call or text me in your free time?
just asking how am I doing...
