Ashes to ashes… Dust to dust…
Though we may choose Life freely,
Death is a must!
We may have a choice
between good and bad…
Love or hate
But with Death, be assured,
there is no debate
For all of us mortals…
This-- is our fate!
We choose from our birth
to live on this earth
with those who would also be here…
Among right and wrong, darkness and light,
hope and promise… And fear!
We're born and we cry, knowing we die,
along with all that we love and hold dear
And Life seems so grand…
As vast as creation
set forth by God's hand
to live in this world… This nation…
This land
We may take it for granted
that each life we might explore
is as boundless as the sand…
But God loves us even more
than we'll ever understand
