Antonio Paulino - My Naughty Nephew Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Gallant, brave, fast and furious
everything what a fifteen year old boy should be;
naughty, outspoken, mischievous,
even than a wonderful kid in our family;
very helpful, very loving
but always defiant,
sometimes very angry
but calms down also quickly;
where and where would I find a nephew like him?

God-given, resilient, strong
he is truly amazing;
I love him for his naughtiness
he wants everything, good clothes, good shoes
and a lot of pocket money;
he is a spendthrift, he is always well-dressed
he likes to buy new clothes everyday
but he also prays everyday,
very religious though so small,
always with a rosary around his neck.

I want him to live a hundred years
he is such a cheerful child
he makes everyone happy,
he makes everyone laugh
where will I ever find another nephew like him
except in our own family,
he is our own gem, I love him.

He is tough, he is a survivor
God is with him every moment
his cheerfulness is his blessing and his hobby;
the wonder about him is he so humble and sweet,
he is also so entertaining and lively
I would want to buy him a Ferrari
as cars and bikes fascinate him
but he fascinates all those who know him.
