Am I Ready?

Am I ready to date again, to step out into the great unknown?
Leave the safety of being single, no one can hurt you when your alone.
Am I ready to take a chance, a love again to loose?
Or say I’m done that’s it for me, the choice is mine to choose.

My life it seems so empty, my home it seems so cold;
My bed seems uninviting, sleeping alone is getting old.
I want someone to care for me, when I talk I want to be heard;
I want someone who cares so much, they hang on every word.

I want to share my hopes and dreams, I want to share my life;
Im looking for a friend and soul mate, not just another wife.
For I had a loveless marriage before, a wife who treated me like dirt;
In the end she left me all alone, with a broken heart that hurt.

So I am not looking for a replacement wife, but rather a new best friend;
One who needs me as much as I need her, and will be with me to the end.
Someone to share a movie with, cuddled up in each others arms.
Sharing an intimate moment, knowing there is no harm.

Or sharing some simple pillow talks, spooning as we fall asleep;
In the morning to wake still in each others arms, kept warm by our bodys heat.
I know this is not asking to much, as a man I want again to feel;
The joy of company and the simple pleasures, that seem for now surreal.

In the end I just want to be happy, and feel that someone cares.
That my life is important enough, for them to want to share.
The simple pleasures is what I want, is this asking to much?
To share a kiss or tender cuddle, to feel a womans touch.
