Here in my heart
Lies the thought of you,
Oh! Africa, my beloved home.
Africa, my black heritage.
From your belly came the great warriors,
Whose blood cleansed our strife for freedom.
Africa! Oh Africa,
Full of God's own wealth.
From your deep shores came
The giants whose bloods
Our gains came.
Africa, my home!
The thoughts of you dries the tears
Rolling down my cheeks.
Africa! The labor of your heroes, past,
Will be remembered for long.
They were chastised, maimed, enslaved,
Brutalised, butchered.....
But their suffering unites us.
Africa! The hope of all blacks.
You never grow cold,
Africa! My home, my chateau.
