Adunni Poem by Adams King

Adunni

Am I in heaven?
Where I was told
tales impeccable beauty

Am I in the afterlife?
In the palace of the Orisa's
Where power and honor lives

Adunni
The beautiful maiden
The unbitten apples
The fine breath of OLODUNMARE

When asked at the market square
Who's the finest among all women
Whose beauty none compares with

Adunni, the olo-oja said
The precious and priceless one
No merchant could purchase

Adunni, the palm wine tapper said
She's a wine no jar is worthy to hold
Such wine will gladen the belly of men
And make them drunk just by a stare

Adunni, the kingmaker said
She's a crown of immense greatness
Not even the most powerful king
crowned by me have had such crown

Adunni, the warrior mentioned
No victory ever felt by battles I won
Will match up with that I will feel
If ever I win her heart
