A Pseudo-World Poem by Muhammad Umair

A Pseudo-World

Rating: 5.0

What a pseudo-world this is
Where discipline means
Detention, without attention;
Where schooling means
Degrees, without education.

What a pseudo-world this is
Where love means
Affectation, without affection;
Where loyalty means
Obedience to one belief and
Contemptuousness to all.

What a pseudo-world this is
Where people embrace
Unseen miraculous events,
But overlook seen catastrophes;
Where one is respected
According to his rank,
And the amount in his bank,
And the slogans of 'equality'
Dance shamelessly only in
Declarations and Constitutions.

What a pseudo-world this is
Where, in the name of civilization,
People are killed
So that they don't kill others;
Where 'the only good
Human being is a dead one.'

What a pseudo-world this is!
