A Little Mixed Up Poem by Goldie Amy Smith

A Little Mixed Up

Just a line to say I’m living
That I’m not among the dead.
Tho I’m getting more forgetful,
And mixed up in my head.

For sometimes I can’t remember
When I stand at the foot of the stairs
If I must go up for something,
Or if I just came down from there.

And before the frig so often
My poor mind is filled with doubt
Have I just put food away?
Or was I about to take food out?

I don’t know why my brain is fuzzy,
Could be the number of my years.
I won’t fret too much about it,
Or shed too many tears.

Because life’s to short, I know it’s true.
So, I’m a little mixed up in my head.
I’ll laugh about it, for right now,
Get dressed, shower, and go to bed.
