A Foolish Man. Poem by Shaila Touchton

A Foolish Man.

In darkness, a shadow reigns
A man void of sense, a family's chains
He claims leadership, but lacks a mind
Leaving loved ones lost, forever entwined

His arrogance boils, a raging fire
Burning bridges, hearts and souls tired
No peace resides, only constant strife
His draining presence, a life-long strife

Women and children suffer, worn thin
By his abuse, a never-ending spin
No respite from his cruel, evil ways
A psychopath's grip, a family's endless days

His reign of terror, a never-ending plight
Leaves scars that last through endless night
No solace found, no haven from his grasp
A stupid man, a family's eternal rasp

But still, hope whispers, a gentle breeze
That one day, freedom will come to seize
The chains will break, the darkness flee
And peace will dawn, for all to see.
