A Dance Through Life's Minefield Poem by Alexander Romanov

A Dance Through Life's Minefield

In life's blindfold, we wander, seeking light,
A tactile quest through contours of the night.
Time, a razor swift, cuts silhouettes,
Forgive the doubled pain that one forgets.

Angels, alas, no longer grace our view,
Between fateful fires, we tread askew.
Pain blinds the eyes, reason rendered weak,
Autumn cloaks broken hearts, a dry mystique.

The start, we'll remember, the end won't fade,
Seemed close, yet far, a masquerade.
For masks can't shroud the depths of inner strife,
Life's bandage veils, a dance through a minefield of life.

Forgive me, skies weigh heavy with clouds,
Numbers on the calendar, no gleaming shrouds.
Thunder's roll echoes, an explosive plea,
My soul dissolves in tears, unbridled, free.

Not forever hidden, you're my vital breath,
I'd howl, but emptiness fills the eye's depth.
Forgive us, heaven and earth conspire,
Time and people, a blend of foolishness and fire.

Barefoot dreams on destiny's perilous edge,
Gray-blue eyes, hair redolent of May's pledge.
A day that felt like the world we'd save,
Yet silence grips, our goals enslave.

Time, people, words, actions intertwine,
Lord, the weariness, like an old, worn sign.
A smile at reflections, a privilege rare,
Clock hands chase, heart's pain laid bare.

Forgive me, skies press with clouds above,
Calendar's numbers lack a gleam of love.
Thunder's rumble, an explosive symphony,
My soul melts, a river of tears set free.

To appreciate those unmasked and true,
I'd howl, but emptiness clouds my view.
Life, a bandage on our gaze, so wise,
Earth and sky, time and people, our eternal ties.
