52 Summers 1.3 Poem by Darrell Harris

52 Summers 1.3

They try to dig up stories when they see that you're the man
Armchair coaching heavy when you come up with a plan
You're in demand and they demand that you comment on the hate
Here's my rebuttal for it............
I'm too focused on the mission for distractions
I'm gaining traction, adding goals so they subtract doubt
What you about? Don't tell me young man go and prove it
Either rock out on that empty stage or face the music
If you're angry then you lose, get frustrated and you lose
Heed counsel from someone not in your lane don't even try
Here's the key under your nose I'm here to point it out
As long as you know what you bout go take that different route
Take the bumps and bruises doing what you love
Or you can take bumps and bruises for somebody else's dream
There is an in between but you'll break your back playing limbo
This life is like a game, you can level up
Just take one step and take another
And before long that promise land will graze up on your feet
The first million is the hardest thing
But when you reach it then the game opens up more
So go and plug in
