52 Summers Poem by Darrell Harris

52 Summers

Today I thought about leaving you

Unlike Kanye murder doesn't enter my mind

Your life is great, greater than most

You don't have to worry about starving or where you'll lay your head

But there's a side of you that can't coexist with me

I dont know if it's a problem in your soul or your way of thinking

We only have one life to live

52 summers aren't guaranteed

If I had to choose waking up next to you or by myself I lean towards the latter

If heaven was on earth I'd break the ladder

If you can't be honest with yourself how can you trust me?

If all you want to be is comfy how could you reach higher?

If the sky were to fall today how would you see your life?

And with questions like these inside my head how could I love you?

If calling me a **** makes you feel better by all means do it

I wish you the best, just without me in the picture

May blessings continue to fall on you
