Goldie Lopez Biography

You can find love in the strangest of places! !

I am a mother of three, a friend and an inspiration to those whom care about me. I’m also the author of a poetry book called “Taking a Journey into a World, through the Eyes of a Poet”. My first book was more based on the reflections of my past. While bracing some life lessons “God” bestowed onto me. I’ve watched other people attentively. Listening to what they had to say, never imagining that their simple words, would one day be words of wisdom to me. And I expressed all this through poetry. My intent as a writer is to touch the lives of those whom read my poetry, written stories, and listen to the music I create. I have been writing for as long as I could remember. “God” encourages my ability to write by letting me see how far I’ve come, while helping me to pursue my life’s dreams. The decisions I make now prove to be life altering from positive change and deep inner reflections, from the world which I dwell and that surrounds me. My loves are my children, writing & music and further more “God”.

I work within the medical field and I have met many people. Some of these people have touched my life so deeply and compassionately, that I remember the brief encounter of how we met. There have been many episodes to my life. Dealing with love/ heartache, loss/loneliness, and abandonment/isolation, explained better in this quotation by, Boris Pasternak; “I don’t like people who have never fallen or stumbled. Their virtue is lifeless and it isn’t of much value. Life hasn’t revealed its beauty to them”. I have learned many things by observing myself and others around me. I’ve battled obstacles, faced challenges, and shattered illusions of negativity. I once lived in the past, only finding out what I thought were my demons, was actually me fighting myself. I’ve come to realize and understand what people are made of. People face many difficult situations and adversities in life. Many times there are no easy answers or solutions to life’s problems. I no longer dwell in the past. My place is planted well in the present. As of now I am focused on the future.
To me life needs to be celebrated and lived, who could say it better than Frederick Banting, “The greatest joy of life is to accomplish. It is the having. It is the giving, not the keeping. I am a firm believer in the theory that you can do or be anything that you wish in the world, within reason, if you are prepared to make the sacrifices, think and work hard enough and long enough”. We only have one life, so make decisions that will positively reflect happiness in your world. Than follow through in believing within you that it can be achieved. I have journey down a path that keeps me on my toes with enlightenment and spiritual growth. I put myself through school after losing my job and struggled while I raised my kids, trying to make
ends-meet. Feeling deeply restricted and stuck, trying to find a way to break out of a cycle of negativity and stagnation. At one time, I felt freedom from failure or to love was just a dream to me; life has taken turns leaving me feeling, could it really be possible to live the life I want? Or is it really possible to live my dreams; while staying focused on my initial goals? I’ve came to a point within myself no matter wherever I am, I acknowledge where I’m at, appreciate who I am, and inspire to be what I will become. Like the words of Albert Schweitzer, ” Life continues to be a mystery too great to understand. I only know that I cling to it. I fear its cessation-death. I dread its diminution-pain. I seek its enlargement-joy”.
There is no greater LOVE, than Love of thy self, no greater gift, than Perception and no profound emotion greater than Pain… And with knowing this, I came full circle to any situation faced within my life. Realizing now that every struggle is significant from one to the next, and a sample thing which makes us uncomfortable can actually cause us to grow and heal. The following phase is letting go and moving on and I'm proud to be able to share my poetry with everyone, in the words of T.S Eliot; “The experience of a poem is the experience both of a moment and of a lifetime…! ”
