Less time day ends soon
November warm quiet
gentle whisper of wind
in digger pines.
...
Pushed hard (adjusting chair)
didn't feel so good anymore.
Face red, jaws clinched
breath slow waiting
...
Feelings short
tight want to yell
anything and everyone.
Yet holding it
...
It is sad being in bed
unable to sleep
feeling muscles and back ache.
Take some solace
...
Gather handfuls miners lettuce
bright green
wet in early morning
some rosemary
...
Old books piled
every dusty room
notebooks scattered
on every stack.
...
Well, well
spent most of day
sitting feeling sorry
now stars coming out
...
When quiet drained waiting calm
evening comes tired look at book
sit with cup of tea and book
have a wonderful night.
...
Spent to much
going through old clothes,
didn't help just made
room more of a mess.
...
Listen dream reach beyond the end.
Don't settle for little things
drifting along slow moving sewers
of accepted morality.
...
Quiet except crickets
almost drowned by fan.
Gnats diving fifty-watt bulb,
...
Got tired of yelling
chest hurts kind of dizzy
you just rolling eyes.
...
It's old baggage now.
But only a few years ago
you'd have thought
it was what the world
...
Dream tired long afternoons
where silence filters through trees.
Shadows shift with wind
reveal last few blooming poppies
...
Sparkling rainbow streaks
at corner of eyes
the remembering of a thousand
untouched dimensions.
...
Rain, warm large drops
might get 2 inchs today.
Sitting here in car
windows fogged
...
Sitting on metamorphic rock
listening to the American river
while watching flickering sunlight.
Hawks circle on thermals
...
At least they were for me.
Damn. Most times I sat on bunk
ignoring mail call

A Good Quiet Day
Less time day ends soon
November warm quiet
gentle whisper of wind
in digger pines.
Blown leaves gray-yellow drift across driveway.
Small silence being alone
sip coffee
feel warmth
seep through torso
almost perfect autumn day.
