Zach Taylor Poems

Smell of popcorn in the air,
Get my cookie dough bits and jumbo pop,
Decide on which movie and theatre I shall attend,
I sit down only to spill my pop,
...

People gathering in my house, Faces full of tears and grief,
Me, six years old and clueless,
What was going on? I had no idea,
My brother lifts me from the ground, places me on the couch,

Definitely not like being dumped for the first time,
Or getting surgery on my tailbone and not being able to sit down.
It's hard to say what I felt that day of oh so long ago, but here's the best I can tell.

Movie Theater

Smell of popcorn in the air,
Get my cookie dough bits and jumbo pop,
Decide on which movie and theatre I shall attend,
I sit down only to spill my pop,
Air conditioning has picked up now,
I find a new seat, go get a new pop, and return,
Only to find my seat taken, movie starting,
Right in the best part, the climax, a phone rings, I will never know the ending.
