Wynona Gibson gibson Poems

The bells, I hear the bells
So faintly ringing, the sounds so far beyond,
My eyes look out, looking out searching,
Scanning into the vague horizon.
...

Is that you when I feel the caress of the soft breeze?
As it drifts so quietly, so softly through the willow trees.
Is it you when the soft rain drops run down my cheek
Like a tear drop that escaped the eyes so meek.
...

What a void within my life
Without a garden be,
A place to sit and contemplate,
Refreshing mind, refreshing me.

Faint Sound Of The Bells

The bells, I hear the bells
So faintly ringing, the sounds so far beyond,
My eyes look out, looking out searching,
Scanning into the vague horizon.

The sounds speaking to me gently,
Coursing through my very being,
The bells, the bells are ringing
Or is it a chorus of angles singing?

My mind is dazed like morning haze,
As I ponder, as I wonder,
The sounds are they for me only?
Tempting, teasing to me fondly.

What of my soulful mind do they ask?
A needful message to convey,
Some chapter in life's path, so far past,
Or perhaps a newness here to stay.

Or maybe another time, another place,
From here to there with no care,
A different quest, laced with grace,
Of beauty beyond our everywhere.

The sky is clearing, the haze disappearing,
But a glimpse of infinity I did see.
Such drifts of thoughts, never naught,
Seek to let me in, let me be.

The bells are ringing, more sounds redeeming,
Tingling sounds vibrate in the air.
The bells are ringing, light is beaming,
Reach out and catch without a care.

The sounds are love and hope and peace.
Transcending time for peace revealing,
A newness of joy and happiness,
Openness of heart not concealing.

So far from my limited visual scope,
Rendering such peaceful feeling.
For joy and love and always hope,
Peace from the bells softly revealing.
