Out Of The Shadows

With the large black bodies swinging in the wind,
Many people just sat there and grinned,
If you watched you were told to dry up,
If not you were sure to get cut up,
Out of the shadow of darkness,
and out of the shadow of death,
If you watched you would see the movement,
it was the idea for the moment,
if you were caught you were brought forth,
o lord you wish you were up north,
out of the shadow of darkness,
and out of the shadow of death,
the great migration it was called,
It is something people never wanted to recall,
It was a movement people did to not get hung,
the smell of dead bodies hanging in the sun,
however nobody cared where the smell came from,
O how painful it would've been knowing you were taking you last breath,
out of the shadow of darkness,
out of the shadow of death.
