Imagine If

If I committed suicide
If I just died tonight
What would all those people think?
Would they lose sleep at night?

Imagine life, minus one
Imagine one less voice
It's not so hard to forget someone
It's only a little less noise

If I committed suicide
I'd choose that special knife
The one that shows your face
As it contorts and drains of life

Imagine the mess, imagine the blood
Imagine your face seeing mine
Devoid of life and color and warmth
If only you'd seen a sign

If I committed suicide
You might never even know
I'd pack a bag and leave a note
Saying I'd left, and I just had to go

Imagine how you would feel
If I ran away to die
Once you knew, it'd be too late
But you'd still ask yourself, Why?

If I committed suicide
I'd tell you exactly why
I'd write it all out and explain it to you
But when you're done reading, you'd better not cry

Imagine the tears spilling over
Wasted over someone like me
Surely your time is better well spent
Learning to see what I see

If I committed suicide, how many would grieve?
How many would get up halfway through?
During the funeral, would anyone speak?
How many would wish they were dead, too?

Imagine all this, and picture the pain
And learn to see what I see
If you can do that, then this will become
What could have been, instead of what will be.
