Her eyes closed, nothing to be seen,
And with the song, she danced along.

Siren Song

A great and grand ship sailed across the sea,
The galleon sailing ever so carefully,
For they were aware of the maidens below,
The sinister sirens with their glow.

The sirens' glimmer comes from their scales,
And pull people with their serene song,
They splash sailors with a swish of their tails,
And make them forget what is right and wrong.

The captain's crew had plugged their ears,
For they had known this for many years,
Yet the young and naive members of the crew,
Had no idea; not a clue.

The captain watched in complete despair,
As his young crew members leaped into the air,
Diving deep into the big blue sea,
To meet the sirens, no longer free.

The valiant captain grabbed one of their hands,
And pulled the man back to the safe ship,
But while holding his hand, he jumped off the land,
Taking the great captain for a dip.

Water flooded his mouth and nose,
The salt burning his eyes and his toes,
Then came forth the creature he fears,
A singing siren unplugged his ears.

And no one ever saw him again.
