Today I had the pleasure,
Of being Nature's Guest;
At the first flight
of a young redbird,
...

Setting in the shade,
Sipping lemonade,
Watching the people,
In the passing parade.
...

Here lie the Kings, the Queens,
The Knights, The Bishops,
The Rooks, The Pawns,
Of our civilization.

Nature's Guest

Today I had the pleasure,
Of being Nature's Guest;
At the first flight
of a young redbird,
Leaving its nest.

Ah, what is so rare,
As a day in June;
A day when honeysuckle,
Is in full bloom.

A day when young birds,
Make their first flight;
A day when roses,
Are blooming so bright.

Oh, how great it is,
Just to sit and rest;
And just to be
One of Nature's Guests.
