Tirtho Banerjee Poems
In a solitary moment
Silent sobs of a timid wish, Wail in my heart's abyss. In a repressed lonely tear I hear scream of a dream devoid of cheer.
A word of love
On the ruins of folly I built a castle of penitent tears And in the mirror of despair Found a blurred image of the past.
A Broken Dream
Day after day, in the middle of endless nights, I chase a longing in my dream And see you sitting beside me Holding my hand and whispering in my ears
Clouds of floating desires Throw a blanket of illusion Over the moonless path.
The Evening Prayers Resound
The evening prayers resound, Jaded birds are nest-bound. A time-torn soul lies on the bed, And flips life's chapters - said and unsaid.
Love's separation brings me closer To a truth as the bitter distance Carries the weary nights and bruised days To a land where brittle dreams shut their eyes.
That treasured moment from me flew, Leaving behind a solemn cherished hue. From a distant empty zone, Emerged a tongueless moan.
We walked by the dancing ocean With slow and heavy motion Our ears untouched by the resounding roar The love in our tired hearts did soar.
The Art of Survival
I grieve in the grief of a tree The shedding leaves Of its branches see.
Price of freedom
He got a bullet to his heart For his passion to unfetter With sweat on his face And blood oozing
The storm spoke, the trees broke, And a birdie lost its cozy nest. Its wings were wet; its voice did choke, Homeless, it vainly searched for a place to rest.

In a solitary moment
Silent sobs of a timid wish,
Wail in my heart's abyss.
In a repressed lonely tear
I hear scream of a dream devoid of cheer.
A stifled desire caresses my wayward thought,
A forgotten memory suddenly comes unsought.
In a writhing image of the past,
I find a limping shadow of a joy that didn't last.
