A shadow in the darkness, a phantom in the night
Though you can feel it's presence, it remains just out of sight
A ghost, a ghoul, a goblin, a demon, some kind of fiend
It remains shrouded in shadow, identity not yet gleaned

Walking along an ever shrinking ledge
Bordered by despair and insanity
Ever closer to the edge
Trying just to maintain my humanity

There the red sun rises
High o’er the hill

It bends men to it’s will

A bottle and a glass are the closest of my friends
They’ll stay here by my side until this night ends

Oh the secret sorrows of those who dare not sleep
Reliving all their sorrows in dark of night
Over truths unspoken, oh how they weep
