Life Is Short

Every day I live
I wonder how we stay alive
With all the happiness and the sorrow
I don’t know how we make it to tomorrow

I wonder how we differ to other people in the world
And how their lives unfurl
The world collapses beneath my feet while I get something to eat
I walk out the door to go to school with new clothes they are obsolete

As I sit here typing away
Taking away some of my night and day
I figure I have it easy
And then a wind comes and I start to feel breezy

Events of the past
Are closing in on me fast
And I realize how long this could last


I feel life is short and will end any day
but then I forget the dismay
For those I love I hold dear
For those I have lost I shed a tear
For those I hate I have no fear
But now I understand how life is and it all becomes clear
