Terri's Lament

She was young when He called her,
He called her by name
He put His spirit inside,
she went on with the game

She spent the years in bright lights,
never mentioning His name
She heard the glasses tinkling -
was on her way to fame
All the while she never,
Ever spoke His name

He continued to call her,
while she stayed with the game
and darkness pulled her down
to the evil pit of shame -
She suffered alone...
No one to blame

Sick and dying, she heard Him,
gently call her name
He said, 'Come to Me, child,
I'll shield you from this pain.'

She now calls out to Him
with praises every day
She tells her friends about Him,
and of the price He paid

She was young when He called her,
He called her by name
He put His spirit inside,
and there He lives today
