Our eyes met through the mist
Of chill`d breath of the crowd.
A million poetic words were spoken
Tho’ unsaid in a silence so loud.
...

Slow moving sea turtles
Beached with Orca meals;
Minotaural complexities in zonal proximity
...

See the black cloaked lady
And the devil in stone;
Hear the death – as it speaks to me,
[I don’t want to live forever] but I ain’t goin’
...

Early autumn flowers bloom in
impregnable places,
dry river beds
and Marmarisian cliff faces;
...

I dreamed a dream
that other men
only dared to dream.
...

See the little girl
among the sea of white crosses.
Mummy said they'd come to visit Daddy
but Daddy is nowhere to be seen
...

Scarlet now the fields where
men stood against men;
the bloody pursuit of peace victorious,
only for them
...

I see the child in his eyes,
Hear the voice filled with delight;
The smile to demilitarise a legion and
It’s pleasing he only has sleep to fight.
...

She dabbed Chanel No 5
behind her ears
and other places upon her body,
a little more intimate;
...

Tequila sunrise she said
As she leans on the bar.
Her eyes scanned the room
And fell upon the door ajar.
...

The faces of blank expressions
ignite the empty vacuum
as nothingness explodes in a whisper;
...

The unprecedented towers
are consensual
to take the lives of men

Our Eyes Met

Our eyes met through the mist
Of chill`d breath of the crowd.
A million poetic words were spoken
Tho’ unsaid in a silence so loud.

Her face lit up and shone on me
Like a warm beam of sunlight.
Fiery green eyes sparkled and twinkled
Like a sky full of stars at night;

But, I sensed an uneasy air,
A sadness she held in her heart.
I wanted to reach out and touch,
She seemed so close yet we were always, so far apart.

Then came tear that formed
Like a glacier of pure ice;
That sadness became so apparent,
Deftly hidden behind those emerald eyes.

Across a crowded room, smoke filled,
That stung my eyes and almost forced a tear.
I tried to smile, but she just stared with
Eyes filled with trepidation and fear

Oblivious then to the milling swarm of people,
I asked myself if I could ever make her happy;
No words were spoken, ever! The cause was lost
So I turned away, penknife in hand and carved her name into a tree.

Now it’s just a lingering memory,
A face across a crowded room.
That evening, the smoke, a million faces
And then our favoured tune…

That night is so far off, away now.
I recall it tho’, every now and then,
Relive those butterflies I so felt
When I, we were young and our eyes met….
