Tanner Humphrey Poems

I like the Dark
Others may become Weak and Weary
But I begin to feel quite cheery
You might find Midnight Dreary
...

What is this existence
Are we really here
Is it some sort of penance
Or is it just the premier

I Like The Dark

I like the Dark
Others may become Weak and Weary
But I begin to feel quite cheery
You might find Midnight Dreary
But I feel a spark

I like the Dark
It makes my spirit Bright
When begin the night
My soul takes flight
It’s my personal narc

I like the Dark
While others are sleeping
I’ll be out seeking
What I find I’m needing
A murky lark

I like the Dark
Some vainly wish the morrow
For they’re trying so hard to borrow
Escape from the shadow
Created by their own sorrow
Or perhaps that’s not a true remark

I like the Dark
The truth be told
I have a black Raven that’s quite old
He can be incredibly cold
He leaves quite the Mark

I like the Dark
So if you do ever hear a tapping
Or perhaps more of a rapping
I’d continue on napping
Otherwise my Raven will be entrapping
Your soul with a simple remark

I like the Dark
