Tania Montgomery Poems

I heard him at the sidewalk of the famous 'Times Square'
As he strummed his tunes on his guitar, with soulful words to bare
I watched the people just pass by, no-one had cared to see
His voice just telling stories of how old times used to be
...

I sit on a golden rainbow
filled with silvers, bronzes too
Where my dreams are often visited
and the Angels help me through
...

There's a throne that's safely kept, it's for all the tears that were wept
And I believe your 'Blue Suede Shoes' fit the bill
You've been gone a long long time and we've always had you on our mind
So the throne belongs to you and always will

my soul is on fire when I lie with you
my heart is aflame with desire that's new
my need for this moment to stay forever
my longing never fading now or ever
...

You smiled so sweet and gave us love, now we envy the angels above
Who hold you close and keep you safe till we meet in another place
A perfect sunset won't match your shine, the brightest of stars cover your shrine
Even the moon sheds a lonely tear now your're gone, so young in your 36th year!

Ode To The Busker

I heard him at the sidewalk of the famous 'Times Square'
As he strummed his tunes on his guitar, with soulful words to bare
I watched the people just pass by, no-one had cared to see
His voice just telling stories of how old times used to be

I glanced upon his guitar case, there were no coins thrown in
His clothes of dustbin throw aways, all tattered, torn and thin
So I stopped and emptied all my coins and placed them in the case
He winked and smiled sincerely as he danced around the place

He stopped and asked me to request whatever came to mind
I said 'Mr Bojangles' is my favorite song, you're just too kind
And he played it well as people filled the case so easily
He smiled a smile I've never seen done so unpretentiously

If ever you walk by a place where a busker may just be
Please stop for a little moment and give him your charity
It isn't much to hand a coin or stop and clap with glee
Cause a busker just sings his heart out for all of us to see
