Susanna Rafart Poems

I will draw circles in obsidian,
section by section, tracing the dark verbs,
when the day will be the last day
among gluttonous beasts
...

Like that knife she wanted as a child,
a folding blade and a beautiful red handle,
with her name engraved. It has traveled the years
chasing her in dreams: narrow beechwood arrows
...

Lord, do not give me over to love
your law is powerful but I'm dragged away,
through the bushes, by the dogs of fear.
I have no idea of the evil such dangers entail.

The Best Poem Of Susanna Rafart

[I will draw circles in obsidian]

I will draw circles in obsidian,
section by section, tracing the dark verbs,
when the day will be the last day
among gluttonous beasts
with moonlit hooves
that will want to love
the life of one single line of verse,
a benefit of undamaged compasses
under columns of cloud-capped ivy.
That's how we won't come to chart
the course of bustling rivers.
I will stay inside the circles under adverse snow
and abolish the sea that sets me ablaze,
desolate pencil of the chasm.
