Oh to be a house cat
snug and smug inside
All the world beyond the glass
hers, to be surmised
...

Fairest one of all
escaped the mirrored wall;
taking with it, my youth
and along with that,
...

And so a year begins,
and takes its place
upon the mound
of those gone before
...

What happens
when it all is written
and there's nothing
left to say.
...

I searched for you today
in all the usual places,
and anywhere you might be
found
...

Waiting for an hour
begins with a minute
A day begins a year
All culminate into nothing
...

Push me daddy,
push me high
Make my toes touch
the sky
...

Trying to hold onto
and preserve what one
loves and feels deeply,
is like trying to pin the

Sightless, I peer into
cupped hands
Somehow it is soothing,
this caress of self

He was tall and slim
with a lovely face
He said he was from Iran;
I'd not then heard of such a place

The morning sun struggled
through the darkness of the night
to burn a pathway through
the heavy mist
...

On a shelf
sit dusty horses
Like my dreams,
never ridden
...

Under the influence of Dorothy Parker
maybe I can make my mark, ... er
maybe not.
And though I wouldn't dream to plagier
...

I sit before the keys
and stretch my
hands and mind.
Thoughts tumble
...

Daffodils or dandelions
what difference
does it make
Both are yellow,
...

Chatter, clamor, smoke
and jokes
Lights flashing,
cashier's cashing..
...

Fishing for his dinner,
gambling what the sea
would bring.
The man hoped to

Beneath the shade of massive oaks
lies a heap of bovine tranquility
Silver-gray, like boulders strewn
closely upon the grassy lea
...

Sparkling sand pretends to be snow
surfboards try to be sleds
Soft breezes whisper in the air
while we mulch our flower beds
...

When the air turns
cold and I behold
a plume of mist
with every breath

Cat In The House

Oh to be a house cat
snug and smug inside
All the world beyond the glass
hers, to be surmised
Safe inside among her pride
of humans whom she rules
the house cat purrs and preens
and all is seen
through eyes of emerald jewels
Give her food, give her a bed
fresh water every day
A clean box of sand to
follow nature's way
A furry mouse, a piece of string
and perhaps a little ball
Just as well, a paper bag
to scoot across the hall
But mostly the house cat
seeks from you
the love and admiration,
that is its due
