You Don'T Know Me Poem by Sarah H H

You Don'T Know Me

You don't know me
Because that is your choice
You opt for telepathy
Rather than voice.
How can you read
The thoughts of another
If you haven't walked in their shoes
Or been raised by their mother?

Are you driven by a desire
To catch me before I fall
Because you are a male protector
And should know it all?
Or is it just the laziness
Of an over spoiled child
Who's been spoon fed answers
Precluding the need to walk an exploratory mile?

I've felt your fingers on my skin
Scouring every pore
They've felt hundreds and thousands
And still begged for more.
So I know you can do it
I've felt in your touch
But is it limited to the physical
Is the emotional too much?

The irony is
That you do it so well
When you show an interest
And ask me to tell.
But that's not enough
And it's far and few between
We need an outside environment
In which to interact and be seen.

You can ask me all the questions
That to you give appeal
But my logic alone
Won't make those answers real.
It's living those scenerios
That make the answers real
When emotion is involved
Presenting an entirely different deal.

So if you need to dress-rehearse
A relationship before you commit
Then opt for someone else
And me you should omit.
I want to feel a man's responses
His emotion and his fear
His laughter and his joy
His sadness and his tears.
My interest is in exploring
And I'll take my chances on the unknown
I have no desire to pass tests
Until you feel I am fully grown.
If you want someone who can 'handle'
The things you throw their way
Then wake up tomorrow
And start a brand new day.
