What Do You See? Poem by Janice Walkden

What Do You See?

What do you see
when you look around
A world in a mess
No hope to be found

Evil here
and evil there
Hate and fear
everywhere

A cruel, cruel world
More war than peace
A place where violence
will never cease

Oh it is dark
This world of hate
One cant help but wonder
of mans fate

So how can we change
There is a way
It won’t be easy
But it will happen one day

We need to reach out
do the best we can
build bridges - not barriers
with our fellow man

‘Love one another - as I have loved you’
Christ has shown us the way
- the way that is true

We need to see the blessings
every day we’re alive
We need to work together
If we are going to survive

God is all around
Open your heart to see
God lives in each of us
you and me

A kind word from a stranger
- a stranger no longer
Kindness and love
makes the world much stronger

When you hear laughter
see a child at play
or a beautiful sunset
at the end of the day

Remember these words
when you look around
if you seek you will find
there is love to be found

Nice write; perspective is an interesting concept, for vision and sight are not equivalent.
