Together Poem by Sally Nesmith

Together

Rating: 5.0

We see you in the bed
your chest move up and down
we look upon your face
shown nothing but a frown
you ask for your last meal
we tell you you can wait
you say you want it now
we have to hesitate
i look upon my father
the tears roll down his face
his love is being stolen
his life in all disgrace
he slept right by your side
through thickness and through thin
you said we would not be there
when time called for your end
your husband and your son
our differences now none
we three are still a family
our work here is not done
you've yet to see me married
my wife and i as one
you've yet to meet my kids
that will be soon to come
we have to be together
to watch them all grow old
and keep them close inside
when they complain of cold
to shield them from the cruel
of the world in which they live
to give them all we have
till nothings left to give
so tell us you won't go
till all work here is done
we'll all fly home together
to precious kingdom come.

Yes...I am a fan! Your work is probably the only work here that i have committed myself to really embrace! I think you are very special!
